The Wayland
East Village
The Wayland artfully treads the line between chill and buzzy. It's never going to be uncomfortably empty, but it's almost never overly packed (thanks Avenue C). Their cocktails are great, there's a decent amount of seating and the jams are always on point.
Drink
Very good cocktails (they're known for their smoky old fashioned), as well as a reasonable selection of beer and wine.
Eat
Snacks, share plates and sandwiches. They also have an oyster-centric happy hour.
Sit
Bar seating, a few smaller tables and a couple of communal tables.
